A little something Extra
Don’t we all love a little something extra these days? No matter how big or small, walking away with an unexpected bonus can turn the worst day into the best. From free coupons for a chicken sandwich at the hockey game to having a few extra dollars left over in your monthly budget – we all love the unexpected blessing that comes from living life.
As marketers, we have an opportunity to capitalize on the idea that people love receiving something extra. And it doesn’t have to cost us much. From big items to small, we have the chance to give our customers something that goes above and beyond what they were expecting.
This spring, we encourage you to sit down with your marketing team and brainstorm ways that you can give your customers a little unexpected “extra.” It will be very different and unique to each business, depending on your industry and your budget. But, find those little ways to delightfully surprise your customers. Who knows, you might be delightfully surprised in return.
A few ideas from our team to get you started:
- Offer a coupon for a free, or even half-off service.
- Write a blog with free tips, so they don’t have to search the Internet for the information.
- Offer links on your website. It makes it easier for your website visitors to navigate other pages. (and helps your SEO.)
- Postage-paid envelopes, or return slips.
- Packaging – whether you’re bagging items, creating a folder, etc. – if people are going to walk away with many items, make them easy to carry.
- Make your phone system VERY simple, and easy to get to the right person/place
- Offer texting to notify customers of news, updates, when their order is ready, etc.
We know there are a TON more! What are some of your ideas?
